- Your horse’s health team leader is your veterinarian. Your veterinarian evaluates the injury, makes the diagnosis and works with the therapist, trainer, farrier and you (the owner) to formulate the best form of treatment. Your veterinarian is responsible for interpreting the evaluation, formulating the plan for recuperation, prescribing medications and overseeing the therapist and farrier.
